"Tackling the 10 Myths of Barefoot Running"

I have an open mind because I used to barefoot run when I was doing a lot of karate but I think the running style changes mostly to assist in avoiding injury by sharp object such as stones and cobbles and gravel because it gives you a little extra time to feel the ground before committing to full and sudden loading, if you feel something sharp you can quickly skip to the opposite foot.

Large regional variations in diabetes amputation rates in the UK
Not once did I hear the facts such as in the main the NHS wont see diabetics unless they have a history of ulceration or amputation and the difficulty we have getting direct access to multidisciplinary hospital care ?? Not forgetting thay may have to PAY to see a Podiatrist to help prevent the lead up to amputation.

The effect of aging on the hardness of foot sole skin

Being in a very positive frame of mind this morning I thought that rather than being cynically critical like the rest of you grumpy old men I would have a go at being helpful and try to produce a reasonable conclusion for the above study. You know, encourage them, pat them on the back, tell them how well they are doing.

Gait impairment in multiple sclerosis

The aims of the present study were to investigate the relationship between the foot sensations and standing balance in patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and find out the sensation, which best predicts balance. Twenty-seven patients with MS (Expanded Disability Status Scale 1-3.5) and 10 healthy volunteers were included. Threshold of light touch-pressure, duration of vibration, and distance of two-point discrimination of the foot sole were assessed.
