about Chiropractic Peripheral Joint Technique
Chiropractic
Peripheral Joint Technique is a manual of manipulation techniques
for peripheral joints. Raymond Broome, the editor, is a master
chiropractic technician and former clinic director and lecturer
from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic, Bournemouth,
England. The intent of Chiropractic Peripheral Joint Technique"…is
to provide a comprehensive volume of practical, clinically
well-tried adjustive methods for the peripheral joints…"
[Preface] Although not an exhaustive demonstration of all
possible techniques for each specific joint included, the
manual does provide several alternative maneuvers for common
joint problems.
Chiropractic
Peripheral Joint Technique is divided into two parts. Part
one - Biomechanics - is comprised of six chapters, which provide
an overview of the relevance of joint techniques including
neurologic implications, role of exercise, and joint kinematics.
Part two describes and illustrates the adjustive procedures
used with the upper and lower extremities and information
on the temporomandibular joint. Black and white photographs
and anatomical illustrations and drawings accompany the text.
The narrative of Chiropractic Peripheral Joint Technique is
presented in an outline format and moves the technician through
the maneuvers in a consistent fashion.
